Founded in June 2004 by owners Ashleigh and Ryan Zimmerman, Aa to Zz is a family-run business led by people who are hands-on, involved and passionate. The first child care center in Harrisburg opened its doors with just two children enrolled - one being the Zimmerman’s oldest son.
The center expanded in the next few years to five centers and continued to grow. “Our initial success was thanks greatly in part to the endless amount of energy we poured into our first center,” says owner and co-founder, Ashleigh Zimmerman.

Our Harrisburg and York area child care centers offer reliable full-time, part-time, drop-in, summer camp and before-and-after-school care for families in the central Pennsylvania region. Aa to Zz operates eight child centers across Dauphin, Lebanon, & York Counties. Aa to Zz’s facilities are unlike any other in the region. Whether you’re considering our child care center in Hummelstown or our Palmyra preschool program, you’ll find classrooms stocked with toys made from natural materials such as wood, felt and silk.
We have three day care centers in Harrisburg. You can find our Harrisburg child care and preschool programs in Hanover Township, Swatara Township & off of Route 39.
You won’t find televisions, VCRs or DVD players because research clearly demonstrates that screen time does not benefit children. Your child will spend time outdoors every day, regardless of the weather, getting their hands dirty. With outstanding care, large outdoor playgrounds and safe and secure facilities, it’s no wonder Aa to Zz is consistently named one of the top preschool programs and child care centers in the state by the Central Penn Business Journal.
